Collage classes with instructor, Laura Lein-Svencner always begin with a few weeks of creating your own collage papers, Laura likes to call this, “building a palette.” A few of the papers to be made in this class will be stained tissues paper, texture Kraft papers, altered National Geographic magazines and deli papers with printing. We will then carry on and explore a variety of substrates; brown paper food bags with handles, watercolor paper, tar paper, canvas and if time allows, we will move to wood panels. The options of image transfers and drawing mediums like pastels or Caran d’Ache, Neocolor water-soluble crayons will be introduced. Coating the papers with polymer medium and using the tack iron to apply the collage papers will be the main source of application.
Supply fee: An instructor material fee of $15.00 will be collected in the first class session.
