Juan Carlos Lara Tapia
I have been painting since 1999 in Mexico City, with a big passion for landscaping scenes. My specialty is oil over canvas, except for one attempt using watercolor. I took lessons with private teachers and participated in 6 collective expositions in Mexico City.
As soon as I moved to Naperville with my family, I started looking for a place to continue with my learning process, so in 2017 I joined the Naperville Art League Open Studio until We moved to North Carolina in 2020.
During the 1.5 years that we spent there, I attended Guilford Technical Community College Oil painting lessons with Professor Don Stewart.
Back in Naperville, i started lessons in 2023 with Professor Chris Hughes, participating in the plein-air event during the 2023 Naperville Fine Art Fair and rejoining the Naperville Art League as a member.
