Delecia began weaving baskets in preparation for post-retirement.  After 31 years with the Missouri Division of State Parks she retired from supervising state-owned historic sites and parks.  But in order to stay in touch with her former staff she learned how to weave baskets and demonstrated at historic festivals across the state.  Delecia took classes at the St Louis Basket Supply shop and ended up as a teacher there for over 10 years.  She loves weaving all types of baskets including Native American, Appalachian, and historic.  She loves to laugh and have fun while teaching her students this wonderful, ancient craft.
