As a fiber artist, I prefer to use sculptural and quilt/collage techniques to create artworks. The main characteristic of my artwork is the combination of the hand printed transparent, translucent and opaque textiles or papers. The patterns manipulated or printed on these materials come from natural landscapes, human figures, fine art masterpieces and my own imaginations. I usually decontextualize and reconstruct them to make wall decors, books, fashion accessories, or art installations.
Besides, my works are experiments about environmental-friendly materials. As we all know that the textile pollution (mainly contributed by wastewater with chemical textile dyes, fabric debris, and plastics) is one of important pollution to affect human health and live environment. In my artworks, I use natural plants which are collected from our surrounds to dye textiles. I also like to use daily life wastes such as textile scraps, plastic shopping bags, coffee filter papers, and metal window screens, etc. to create new art projects. Otherwise, they would become pollution. My efforts about "Sustainability" and “No Waste” are to construct a relationship between man and nature focusing on improving and taking care of our environment.
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle are the most important ways to protect our environment.
