Dimensional work with Collage papers
Students will work with a variety of found and new papers to create a fresh palette. Participants will alter surfaces using gesso, acrylics and stamping materials while learning about design. Through small exercises, students will discover how to loosen up as they assemble their collages on a substrate of watercolor paper. Embellishments or drawing materials will be incorporated to produce a harmonious conversation with all the elements involved. Finished work will be presented in a shadow box frame made during the workshop from a wood panel.
Fee: $ 260.00
Plus: $20 material fee collected on the first day of workshop (in addition, students are required to bring some of their own supplies. Click Supply List below.)
Workshop starts at 9:00 am and runs until 4:00 pm each day
A daily half-hour lunch break is included and students are asked to bring brown bag lunches and drinks

Shibori Silk Dyeing

Learn basic techniques of Shibori dyeing, a Japanese term for binding, clamping and folding cloth to make patterns and designs. Make two scarves - one on silk chiffon, the other on silk Habotai (china silk) and experience the different qualities of the two materials. Each finished scarf is approximately 14" x 72". This introductory four hour class covers cutting, adhesives, substrates, design/layout and grouting. Unique to this class, students will use dishware for their mosaic pieces. In addition, a wide selection of glass and ceramic tiles, balls and other geometric shapes are offered. Students will choose between several options for their project: outdoor garden art such as stepping stones or terra cotta pots or indoor pieces, to include picture frames, decorative plates or bowls. Students can even bring their own piece to mosaic if desired. Everyone will take home a completed mosaic at the end of class and receive an instructional guide detailing the mosaic process. By popular vote, this camp's theme is "Fantasy!" Learn how to create pictures centered around this theme with Tony Carnesecchi. Use many mediums that may include acrylic paints, watercolor paints, oil Cray-Pas® and Sculpey® sculpture clay. Complete six projects for the week and showcase your artwork at an Art Show on Friday from 2:30-3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited! Bring a sack lunch, a morning snack, something to drink and a roll of paper towels. Clothes you don't mind getting messy and gym shoes are required. All art supplies included.

Learn how to draw portraits and create more professional finished portraits with June Padovani. Learn human proportions and anatomy of the human face and form, shading expression and movement. Bring a few photos to work from; experience drawing exercises using a plaster model of a head. Supply list includes graphite pencils, charcoal, kneaded eraser, white, 11’ by 14’ or larger drawing pad and tracing paper to cover drawing for corrections. These additional supplies are optional ‘ toned drawing paper, white pencils and pastels, markers, watercolor or paint with brushes.
