Marilyn Dale is an award-winning painter whose work spans traditional landscapes and portraits through lyrical abstraction, and mixed media. Her art is rooted in observation but often opens into expressive or symbolic territory, exploring mood, memory, and atmosphere through layered mark-making and rich surfaces. Proficient in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and collage, Marilyn balances technical skill with creative spontaneity.
She earned a Certificate of Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds both a BA summa cum laude from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Marilyn has taught painting and drawing at North Central College and the Naperville Art League, where she also served as president and board member.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and juried group shows, including with the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA), where she is a Signature Member and the historic Salmagundi Club in New York City, one of the oldest art organizations in the US. She has also created permanent and seasonal liturgical installations for churches across the country.
Marilyn lives and works in Naperville, Illinois.
