Charles Williams Jr.
I am a self-taught artist born and raised in Chicago. I love art because it is very liberating, I can freely express how I feel about a variety of topics including culture, religion, society, and the mysteries of the universe through my art. My favorite mediums are acrylic paint, chalk pastel, oil pastel, pen, and marker. I use multiple color palettes in my paintings. A lot of my inspiration comes from literature, music, movies, fashion, and overall life. My creative process is very intentional. Every brush stroke is purposeful, and every color choice is intrinsically committed to the canvas. I am influenced by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jackson Pollock, and many others. Painting is my passion. Ultimately, what drives me to do art is the tranquility and satisfaction I receive from it.
