As a follow-up to introductory watercolor courses or private practice, this 6-week long curriculum advances research into technical, formal, conceptual, and theoretical approach to painting as an expressive art form. The emphasis is for each student to reproduce the short demonstration led by the instructor and either continue or begin a self-designed project that focuses on exploring the finer techniques of mark-making, color theory, and composition. Extracurricular practice and preparation is highly recommended. In addition to demonstrations and free work time, classes are structured for open discussion and critiques. On the final day, a class presentation will be held for all students to display and celebrate their pieces. *Note: Those who don’t meet the prerequisite may still attend the class.
