ABSTRACT SYMPHONY - Public Art Competition When is the exhibit? Entries will be exhibited at Naperville Art League’s Fine Art Center & Gallery from March 02 through March 19, 2021. Artists’ Awards will be presented on March 7th, 2021 at 3:00 pm. NAL will host a non-perishable food drive for Loaves & Fishes throughout the exhibit. Loaves & Fishes provides food and services to over 2,700 Naperville and DuPage County families each month, ensuring they have the nutrition necessary to reach their potential. In addition to food, the classes and programs offered to client families, through Loaves & Fishes’ partnerships with area service providers, are designed to help clients improve their quality of life and regain their self-sufficiency. The Naperville Art League is a non-profit organization created to support and sustain development and diversity of all forms of art. Who is eligible to enter? Two 2D and two 3D categories are available: High school and college students Adults
What is the deadline? Entries must be received by 4:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Is there an application fee? Yes. The fee is $25. Members of NAL will be charged $15.
Are there prizes? Yes! · Best of Show Award: $350 · Awards of Excellence: $100 · Honorable Mentions will receive a ribbon. · All Award winners will be recognized in a press release and on the NAL website.

Theme All entries must be the artist’s personal, original artistic interpretation of the theme: Abstract Symphony. An artist’s statement of 100 words or less explaining how your work relates to the theme must accompany your piece. Work that does not reflect the theme may be rejected.
Content Pieces may be representational or abstract. All work must be original in design, concept and execution and signed by the artist. Pieces must have been made within the last 3 years. Group projects, kits or commercially prepared objects that are decorated will not be eligible. No previously winning artwork!
Media Any media or mixed-media may be used. Photography and computer art are acceptable.
Size Maximum size for 2-D pieces is 36” x 48” for the outside frame in either direction. Pieces must be appropriately framed and ready to hang with a wire hanger. No “sawtooth” hangers. “Top” or any special hanging requirements must be plainly marked on the back to avoid hanging errors.
Maximum size for 3-D pieces is 48” high by 36” wide and/or deep; no more than 40 lbs. and must be free-standing, ready to display.

Delivery Work must be brought to the Naperville Art League’s Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. Center St. by 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 The Entry Form must be completed and affixed to the piece along with an artist’s statement explaining how the entry relates to the theme (100 words or less).
Entry fee $25 (non-members) by cash or check payable to Naperville Art League. Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express also accepted. $15 for members of NAL.
Judging The show will be professionally judged. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of Best of Show and Awards of Excellence. Honorable Mention winners will receive ribbons.
Pick-up All work must be picked up within one week following the exhibit. Please pick up March 19-20, 2021. Any pieces not retrieved by April 2nd, 2021 become the property of the Naperville Art League.
Please note The Naperville Art League reserves the right to refuse any piece deemed, in their sole discretion, to include inappropriate content/subject matter or that does not adhere to the standards deemed acceptable, such as improper wiring and poor quality matting or framing.
