Shibori Workshop, October 9, 2026, (10am-12pm), Friday
Shibori is the Japanese art of resist dyeing—where cloth is folded, bound, and awakened through color. Explore simple techniques to create bold, luminous patterns that are never quite predictable. In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the basics of acid dyeing on silk while experimenting with modern takes on traditional resist methods. Students will create small, dyed silk pieces that can be displayed, or used as hair ties, pocket squares, bracelets, bag wraps, or other wearable accessories. The workshop will also introduce possibilities for further exploration! Designed for beginners and curious makers alike, this class emphasizes process, experimentation, and creative discovery. No prior experience is necessary, and joy is a likely outcome!
All supplies, including materials for three silk samples to keep and wear.
