Learn the entire process of hand-dying silk scarves, using the non-washable resist method and Jacquard Red Label silk dyes, which provide rich, vibrant colors. This class will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the entire process, along with hands-on demonstrations and student practice opportunities so that students will be confident and knowledgeable enough to create their own 8”x54” silk scarf. In this class you will specifically learn: how to prepare your fabric, attach it to the wood frame how to select/create designs, position your designs and yourself for optimal working conditions important tips on applying resists, the difference between resist types important tips on applying dyes, the difference between dye types detailed steaming instructions, difference between steaming/setting.
