Kristina Monkel has a legal background. She was a police officer in her native country Lithuania, and when arrived in the USA in 2004, she pursued a career as a paralegal and has worked for over 10 years at one of the largest real estate law firms in the area.
Kristina says she even did not know she could paint, because she did not have any artistic background. Kristina is a self-taught artist; started creating her own art in 2020.
Most of her work is Mix Media art that involves using a combination of different materials such as paint, pencils, soft pastels and ink. She says, with her paintbrush she conveys emotion.
Art to Kristina is a way to express emotions that are difficult to put in the words.
