Creative Play with Shapes, November 5 (10am-3pm), Saturday
Instructor: Denise Laurin
Join us for a one-day workshop to stimulate your imagination and learn about composition using paper, shape and color based on the cut-outs of Henri Matisse.
Fine artist Denise Laurin is inspired by the work of Matisse because of its childlike quality, simplicity and compositional power. Matisse abandoned the rules because he wanted to express his passion for being alive. In this workshop, it's your turn to abandon the rules, take time for yourself, play and create your own cut-paper composition. As a goal of this workshop, you will learn about the principles of design and how to apply them to compositional decision-making.
Supplies: Optional: bring your own scissors or Xacto knife. (Matisse shape templates, acrylic paint, brushes, paper and glue are provided.)
Supply Fee: $10.00
