Bio
My personal art style is about taking bits and pieces of a subject and trying to make sense of it. I have adapted it to a unique learning style because I absorb information differently than most people. As a result, I have learned to use a variety of educational tools that have heightened my awareness of the world around me. I’m primarily a hands on learner which has served me well because
 I tend to experiment more and think beyond the obvious. I design classroom and workshop curricula through which I share with children and adults some of the basic design skills and techniques in collage. My art comes from my ability to express life stories that come from my journals and through my relationships. It is personal yet universal. I have exhibited in a variety of outdoor art fairs, local and international exhibitions and have curated several collage exhibits. I maintain my enthusiasm by continuing to explore new ideas and techniques.

Artist Statement
Glimpses, moments and entries into a visual diary, mind journeys, troubled thoughts, experiments and spiritual experiences, all inspired by nature and the people around me. The medium of collage allows me the ability to layer and add depth, much like our very own lives. Rich in story and history by the events and objects we choose to take with us.
The process of assembling a collage for me involves the physical act first; the gathering, collecting, swapping, thrift shopping, and trading items with like minded people. This is very exciting, stimulating, and addictive. The whole process of creating a collage, taking the old and ordinary and juxtaposing it with the new and unusual, is what invigorates me.
Endless supplies of paper are all around us inviting the interchange of ideas. I recycle some of these papers and add them to the paper pulp I make from the plants I grow in my yard. I prepare the plants by cooking them and getting out all the impurities. The combination of recycled paper and organic pulp makes for the unique paper I use in my work.
It's a wonderful time to be a collage artist; technology is at our finger tips, literally. Using digital cameras, computer programs and the printer opens the door even wider to a vast assortment of altered images. Who knows where the fine art of collage will go. For now I'm enjoying the journey.
